It's really simple with RSS! Thing 8

This week I took a look at RSS readers, downloaded bloglines and set up several news feeds. Just a short post from me this time as the majority of my time this afternoon was spent in the Training Room helping others get set up so that they too can learn and have fun at the same time!

Flickr and Picnik

This week I didn't have as much time to play so only managed a short stint. I used the time to crop and resize a photo for my profile using Picnik, a photo editing tool that Anne had mentioned. It was fun, but took me a little while to work out how to upload the edited photo from Picnik/Flickr straight into my profile rather than into a new post which is what it wanted me to do.

There's so much you can do with Flickr! Earlier this year I'd attended an ALIA workshop on using Flickr and at that time had created a photostream of some holiday snaps. I had forgotten I'd done this so it was fun rediscovering the photos and tagging them.

Here's a photo of endless fields of vines taken in the beautiful French village of Saint Emilion, famous for its wines.

The Beginning

This is not the first blog I've set up. I'm setting this one up to help me keep track of my progress through the 23 things.

I enjoyed going through the 7.5 habits tutorial. And yes I do need to break out of the box! I need to ensure I find the time to put lifelong learning first, ie. I will, I can, I do. Sure we're always learning but I want to find the time to do a whole host of fun things like learn another language, for example.

So ... I need to start treating every obstacle as a challenge, a learning opportunity, and overcome it in this way.
